Why Legends and Paradise came into existence

Sri Lanka back in the global tourism map as the top travel destination to visit in 2025, mainly due to its diversity, people, culture and nature. Yet the island of serendipity has never been truly exposed to offer a real authentic tourism experience so far. Hence a team of professionals over 35 years of industry experience and especially with European market knowledge has come together to create a unique entity to offer true Sri Lankan experience and void a long-standing gap in the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka.

At Legends and Paradise, we don’t just organize travel — we craft journeys that breathe life into Sri Lanka’s living legends. As a proud member of the MAC Holdings Group, we combine deep local insight with world-class standards to deliver experiences that are both authentic and unforgettable.

MAC Holding Group established in 1858 with a history of 150 years has been in tourism with large scale hotel projects, Serene Pavillion and in bound tourism under the brand Antiquity pvt Ltd from the year 2015. Further the group is the GSA (ground service agent) for Thai Airways in Sri Lanka and company has expanded to branches in UAE and Bangladesh as strategic presence.

Achala Gamage (MBA UK)

Achala hails from 20 years of tourism background specifically handling European markets predominantly French due to language proficiency. Holding a Masters of Business Administration from the university of Wales institute of Cardiff, Diploma at Alliance Francais de Colombo, he has experience in handling more than 50 000 travelers to Sri Lanka from FIT to Incentive corporates through previous key top management positions at Walkers Tours and Diethem Travel. His key strengths are development of market specific strategy and creative product development.

Honorary Consul of the Republic Bulgaria in Sri Lanka. A well-known industry expert with over 30 years of experience in the transportation & logistics industry, is the immediate past Chairman & a member of the executive board of the Sri Lanka Logistics Providers Association. He is a past Chairman of the ECCSL Market Access Team (MAT) Tourism committee. He is also a member of the Logistics Advisory Committee of the Export Development Board and is the Chairman of the Ports & Aviation Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. He is the Vice President of the Sri Lanka France Business Council.

Comes with 32 years of experience in the inbound tourism in Sri Lanka. Immense knowledge of product development and in creation of unique experiences to suite the tailor-made clients. Has years of operational knowledge of handing top luxury clients, Exclusive Groups, Spectator Groups and Passenger Cruises & Military ship movements. Experienced in marketing the destination Sri Lanka, convincing new tour operators to feature the destination and currently responsible for the marketing in UK, Europe, USA, Australia & India.

Comes with 31 years of experience in the inbound tourism in Sri Lanka, Dubai, New Zeeland & Australia. Experience in handling of the Russian Scheduled / Charter Movements in Sri Lanka from 2011 to 2015. Years of operations & administration knowledge of handing every segment of inbound tourism. The product knowledge in Wildlife & adventure is the highest expertise and regular travel around the island to explore new products. Responsible for the development of the Chinese market at Antiquity, operating the China based office, marketing the destination and maintaining the current agents, generating new business / agents in the upmarket and the luxury segment of Chinese market. New assignment is to develop the Russia & CIS market at the Leisure Sector.
